California Resource Recovery Association Graduates First Class
The California Resource Recovery Association, in partnership with Santa Monica College, is proud to announce the graduation of its first class, “Professional Certification in Resource Management”. Funded by a grant from the Department of Labor through the California Works Alliance, this program was taught by top experts in the recycling and resource management industry.
Students learned a variety of topics, including Business Recycling, Zero Waste Principles, Organics Management and Composting, Construction and Demolition Management Practices, The Triple Bottom Line, and more. Multiple class projects were developed to gain a real world understanding of the principles learned during training, preparing students for a career in the recycling, composting and reuse industry.
The growth in the recycling and resource management industry has created a demand for qualified staff. The new positions range from entry level to managerial and require specialized training, along with individuals who can provide leadership, creative solutions and innovative ideas. Positions include green facility management, recycling coordinators, sustainability team members, reuse operators and 100s of other green, clean and well paying jobs.
Resource management enables businesses and municipalities to become more efficient, increase their bottom line, improve community relations, and decrease their financial and environmental risks.
